Porch dreams…

By now, I thought there would be two white rocking chairs and a table on my porch…along with lots of flowers and a couple of healthy green ferns.  Maybe a colorful grapevine wreath on the wall.  All through the endless winter with so much snow, I dreamed of Spring.  Now, it is Spring.  It is May 2nd and it is pouring snow…and 36 degrees!  What is wrong with this picture?  Don’t tell me.  I already know.

It is supposed to look that this…well, okay, maybe not quite like this.

Instead, there is an icy floor…

and two birds who have taken up residence and are making a mess…

and, obviously, walls that need cleaning.

I have my first terrible cold in I don’t know when and it is Spring!

I had plans to sew and catch up on things but I just don’t feel like it…

so I think I will simply relax.

Supposedly, colds last for one week or seven days…

at least I hope that’s all.

So, in the meantime, I have a good book to finish.

I will listen to the birdsong coming from the icy porch…

and hang on until next Tuesday when it is supposed to be 71 degrees!

Oh, you poor thing! Snow- I can’t even imagine how depressing that is! I suppose if you are going to have a cold, this week would be a good time. You won’t feel so bad having to stay inside! Soon you will have those pretty flowers blooming on your porch and just think how much you will appreciate them! I hope you feel better very soon.
I have been away and am just now catching up on your blog. Your precious granddaughter is so sweet and your visit sounded so wonderful. I know it must be so hard to live so far away.
A big hug for you, Dear Dianne! xoxo

Sure hope your cold (and the weather) turns around for you post haste! Winter surely has not wanted to let her icy grip on us all go this year that is for sure. We are just barely missing that storm but its giving us rain and cooler temps.

Hope you are soon feeling better. Presently have blue birds residing in nest on my porch. I feel so guilty when I sit on porch and they fuss about someone near their nest. Also have other birds that later will build nest on the log post on front porch. They leave a mess when constructing the nest. The broom has to be kept on porch to sweep regularly. We have solid rain today, but that’s better than snow. I look forward to seeing your porch with some beautiful plants and a comfortable chair. The hummingbirds have been abundant here lately. The front porch runs the length of log home and it sounds like an airport runway at times with their zooming the full length. I expect any day to have a hummingbird fly into my head…lol. Rest and take some recharge time and hopefully we can all soon enjoy springtime.
